Marie-Toni Tinshu born on March 3, 2008
With praise to God and gratitude in our our hearts, we are pleased to let you know that Marie-Toni Tinshu was born on March 3, 2008 at 7:38pm South Africa Time (6:38pm Cameroon time):
Weight = 2.6kg
Height = 49cm
Head = 31cm
Despite the limited access we hav to internet and the nature of our studies, we are still determined to keep you informed.
Marie-Toni is a miracle baby because she was coming to the outside world without labour pains and so the doctors had to do a C-Section on Marceline for her to be out!! They were discharged from the Pretoria Academic (University) Hospital on March 5 and they are home enjoying the Lord and doing very well. Marceline is recovering very fast from the surgery.
Marie Catto is the wife of Dr. Graham and she has been so gracious to us since we arrived here. When Marceline felt uneasy and I called Paul, he came with his wife Toni (nurse) who was so help and knew exactly what to do with the prolapsing cord that saved the baby’s life. That is why the baby’s first name is Marie-Toni, just in case you were wondering why that name.
Her middle name will be Wonderwerk meaning Miracle in Afrikaans. While I was at home wondering what her middle name should be, I felt God say Miracle. The following day when I went to the hospital, Marceline said, why can’t the child’s name be Miracle in Afrikaans. That was a perfect confirmation. So, the full name will be Marie-Toni Wonderwerk Tinshu. Isn’t that lovely!!
Wouldn’t you join us in praising the Lord for this wonderful Miracle!
I trust the Lord to be able to share other ministry prayer needs with you in the days ahead, God-willing.

What is Food for Funds
Every October 16, the world commemorates World Food Day (WFD). While others will have more than enough to eat, others will be dying of hunger. What an unequal world. I have had the opportunity to visit countries in Europe and America and I am amazed at how much food is thrown away. On the other hand, I have also had countless number of people who have approached me in my community for help and who sincerely cannot afford the very basic of life – food.
During the week of October 12 – 19, 2008, we are asking that you bring together 2 or more people or as many as you can bring together for a meal. You will eat together with your group members and then discuss ways to effectively end hunger in the world. You will also watch together, PowerPoint presentations (and maybe videos) about how HINT is helping rural people overcome poverty in Cameroon, Sub-saharan Africa.
Finally, you will be invited to make a donation that will be used by HINT to extend micro-credit to rural women in Cameroon, to help them overcome poverty.
In 2007, we raised close to $3,000 from 15 donors who gathered at Arlington, USA during the first ever Food For Funds event that we orgainsed through the effort of one family – Brian & Christe Dodds. The funds were used to extend credit to 25 rural women organised in 4 credit groups in two rural communities in the the South West of Cameroon.
Our target for 2008 is a minimum of $10,000 to help a minimum of 80 rural women. Our vision is to see thousands of women liberated from poverty.
We now invite you to participate in FFF 2008 by becoming a host or joining an up-coming FFF event closest to you.
